Wacom Pro Unboxings
A new Pen, the Wacom Pro Pen 3d is out!
I’m a long time user of wacom products, I still remember the first time I started to use wacom pens as a retouch artist back in Sweden. This was early nineties and I worked in Photoshop 2.5 or 3. I remember that layers was not still invented. Now fast forward to soon 2018 and I moved country and Industry, however Wacom is still in my life. Nowadays I work as Lead texture artists for some of the biggest Hollywood productions at one of the major VFX studios in London. Almost all artists have a Wacom on their desks.
The new Pro Pen 3d
I reached out to Wacom initially to test the Wacom Pro Pen 3d and I learned that I needed the Pro line of tablets for it to work. In my home studio I have a Cintiq 27 touch but that line would not work. Wacom gracefully sent me both the New Intuos and the Cintiq 15.6 inch UHD to test the Wacom Pro Pen 3d against.
This will be a first Unboxing and I will later follow of with Individual hands on reviews when I have tested the products with the programs I use most, Mari, Maya and Zbrush.
Wacom Pro Pen 3d
The pro pen 3D was the reason I reached out to Wacom in the first place. It says it has support for some of the programs I use Maya Zbrush. I heared that it does not have direct support for Mari yet but I guess you can configure some if this yourself.
The Package almost looks like it would be a new Iphone. But hey what am I rambling about let’s look the video and see for yourself

Already a cintiq user It’s a fun way to interact with your work. The new Cintiq Pro comes a smaller form factor then what I have but it packs with a punch in the form of more resolution as it’s a UHD monitor you have at your fingertips. I must say the new line of boxes that the wacom pro line ships in looks absolutely fab and stylish. But is always its the quality of the product im after not the box and when it comes to wacom I know I get quality.
